The Club year starts on the 1st June, this is when membership renewal is due for existing members.
New members may commence membership at any time paying a pro-rata membership fee.
It may be prudent for new members to join before the 1st June in order to spread the burden of tractor tuition as there may a delay in getting new members passed out to drive the tractors should a few new people join at once.
This is a club run by members for members, so you will be expected to help out with all aspects of the club, however big or small. Always remember you need to be involved to get the most out of your membership.
If you own the boat, or have any financial interest in whole or part of boat ownership, you are obliged to become a full member.
If you've got a mate who regularly fishes with you he/she can become an associate member at 50% of full membership. This also gives access to the tractors which makes launch and retrieve easier.
The club strongly recommends that club members have at least public liability insurance.
You'll need a Promenade Permit from the council if you want to use the Green Street slipway , which also requires you to have insurance. There is an initial one off payment to register your boat and have it data tagged. You'll have to contact Patricia Cross (01524) 582836 at Morecambe Town Hall for the current price.
The prom permit currently costs £12 per year after the initial joining.
The slipway which the club mainly uses, Oakley Rd near the Grosvenor promenade, doesn't require the purchase of a permit.
Current cost stands at 50% of full membership, hence £50. Only open to non boat owning members only, there is limited use of club facilities. No voting rights at any general or annual meeting.
